Expliseat Signs a Purchase Agreement with Jazz for the Seats of its Air Canada Express DASH 8-400 Aircraft

At Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Expliseat, the French manufacturer of the world’s lightest aircraft seat, signed a purchase agreement with Jazz Aviation LP (“Jazz”). The Canadian airline has chosen the TiSeat 2 V, to renew the cabins of 25 Dash 8-400s. Jazz operates Air Canada Express service under a capacity purchase agreement with Air Canada.

Jazz and Air Canada have chosen the TiSeat 2 V to equip Jazz’s Dash 8-400 aircraft. The product comes in two different trims and finishes for Preferred Economy and Standard Economy class seats. It features a PED (personal electronic device) holder, recline, and 3D generous cushion for an elevated passenger experience.

Expliseat’s innovative carbon fiber and titanium technology gives the TiSeat 2 V unrivaled lightness and durability. Jazz benefits from increased passenger payload and range capability while enhancing the Air Canada Express passenger experience with premium features.

The TiSeat 2 V saves up to 360 kg per aircraft, significantly reducing CO2 consumption.

The robustness of the seat, made entirely of titanium and carbon, also saves on maintenance and overall product reliability.

Jazz and Air Canada’s selection of Expliseat’s product and technology strengthens its position as the leader in economy-class seating, particularly for turboprops.

“We are very proud to announce our new top-tier customer, Jazz – operator of Air Canada Express and longstanding partner of Air Canada, both known for the quality of their product offering. By ordering 25 cabins, this airline endorsement is contributing to Expliseat’s current growth trajectory. We thank Jazz for their strong vote of confidence in our product, which has been designed for the comfort of passengers and the objective of decarbonisation,” said Amaury Barberot, Chairman and CEO of Expliseat.

“The investment in lighter and more sustainable seats for our Dash 8-400 fleet, which are fully customized to our rigorous Air Canada Express passenger experience standards, will reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, demonstrating our commitment to minimizing environmental impact and a greener future for aviation,” said Randolph deGooyer, President of Jazz.
